Helping people thrive and giving back to our communities is at the root of T.W. Frierson’s mission. A corporate giving program is most successful when it is connected to employee community service, and T.W. Frierson contributes to organizations and communities that are important to our employees.
TWF Employee-Owner, Julio Pineda, returns each Christmas from the US to his family and hometown of Los Amates, Guatemala. For 13 years, Julio and his family have hosted a program for many disadvantaged families from the neighborhood he was raised. This program is a celebration of Christmas and includes entertainment, a special meal, wrapped gifts for children, and food baskets for families.
4 years ago, T.W. Frierson learned of Julio’s service to his community and offered financial support to help expand this good work to others.
This year Brent Edwards, Vice President of Business Development, at his own time and cost, traveled to Los Amates to document the celebration and learn more about Julio’s home country and community. Check out this awesome video he put together highlighting Julio’s community service!
